From the first moment you step into the Pulitzer, you will instantly feel warm and cozy.
Set along one of the many canals in Amsterdam, this hotel consists of 25 buildings that were renovated from top to bottom to create one large hotel complex. In the middle of all the buildings is a stunning courtyard area, with outdoor tables and large outdoor heaters for those chilly nights.
There is a lot going on decor wise within the hotel, some old style paintings and also some modern art. Whoever put it all together did a great job! Would have taken some serious talent. Even the elevators are stylish!
The staff is there to welcome you with a big friendly smile. The concierges gave us 2 wonderful restaurant recommendations, and they even made the reservations for us. It was one less decision we had to make, which is what vacation is all about. They truly go above and beyond to make your experience as easy and relaxing as possible.
The rooms are very pretty. I LOVED the purple curtains mixed with the yellow throw, such a beautiful compliment. The bed was comfortable and really cozy. The bedding is super soft, feels like a big warm hug. Wardrobe has robes and disposable slippers for your use. A good feature in these rooms is the USB charging ports on the headboard and in the desk. When traveling in Europe it’s always a juggle to charge all of your electronics, and the USB ports make it much easier as you don’t need to use a power adapter.
Made of marble and white ceramic tiles, the bathroom is the definition of spa like. I’d recommend wearing your provided slippers or socks on the floor, as the marble did tend to get a little cold on the toes!
The shower has both a rainshower head and a handheld head. Both options had normal water pressure which was nice!
The bath products are great, and smell wonderful! I’m still (sparingly) using the body lotion, I will be sad when its gone!
This was my second stay at the Pulitzer Amsterdam, and it certainly won‘t be my last. The level of care and thought that is put into the service here is unreal. The staff really makes you feel welcome. I’d have to say they thought of everything here. It is a luxury 5 star hotel, so you are going to pay more per night, however it is worth every penny! There is nothing bad to say about this establishment. I would highly recommend staying here if you ever get the chance.
Until next time,
